Key Responsibilities
Workshop & Business Management
- Drive workshop profitability and achieve monthly sales targets.
- Ensure efficient workshop operations and high productivity levels.
- Allocate work effectively to mechanics and monitor job progress.
- Maintain high standards of workmanship and customer satisfaction.
- Monitor workshop performance, labour efficiency, and parts profitability.
- Ensure workshop cleanliness, organisation, and professional presentation.
- Open and lock workshop premises when required.
- Conduct weekly tool inspections and equipment checks.
- Ensure workshop equipment servicing is up to date.
- Maintain OHS compliance and documentation.
Customer Service & Sales
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Handle customer enquiries via phone, email, and walk-ins.
- Prepare accurate quotations and maximise upselling opportunities.
- Follow up on quotations and convert leads into sales.
- Provide customers with regular progress updates and service feedback.
- Resolve customer concerns professionally and effectively.
- Test drive vehicles where necessary.
Team Leadership & Administration
- Lead, motivate, and manage workshop staff.
- Handle staff attendance, scheduling, and performance management.
- Manage flyer/promotional staff schedules and daily activities.
- Address HR-related matters, disciplinary issues, and staff concerns.
- Ensure vehicle keys, special tools, and workshop assets are securely managed.
- Report operational issues and business concerns to management.
Minimum Requirements
- 3-5 years' experience in the automotive service and repair industry.
- Strong mechanical knowledge across a wide range of vehicle makes and models.
- Proven experience in workshop management and sales.
- Excellent understanding of quoting, parts margins, and workshop profitability.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Outstanding customer service and communication abilities.
- Computer literacy essential (Microsoft Office).
- Experience with Pastel and workshop management software advantageous.
- Experience with social media marketing beneficial.
- Highly organised, proactive, and target-driven.
- Professional appearance and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Valid driver's licence and own reliable vehicle.
