Web Developer (Permanent) | Pretoria / Somerset West

We’re hunting for a passionate Web Developer who gets a kick out of building enterprise-grade web platforms that real South Africans use every day. Think tax systems, financial services, and seamless digital experiences that thousands rely on.
Responsibilities:
- Support and develop new integration functionality and components.
- Collaborate with business analysts and cross-functional teams to refine and implement requirements.
- Refactor and improve code to ensure maintainability, scalability, and adaptability.
- Follow and contribute to development standards, processes, and best practices. Evaluate and improve application performance, reliability, and availability.
- Develop and execute unit and integration tests.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation.
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) on system defects and production issues.
- Participate in building, packaging, and deployment processes.
- Execute functional test scenarios during development.
- Contribute to team collaboration and, where applicable, mentor junior developers
Requirements - Relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field or Matric with between 5-10 years of hands-on development experience within a custom software development environment, with multiple production releases per year.
- Solid proficiency in .NET C#, with proven expertise in developing enterprise-grade web applications. (VB is an advantage).
- 5-10 years’ experience as a Web Developer in a multi-tiered .NET application environment, and at least 10 years of experience as a Front-End Developer.
- Solid experience with modern web technologies, including JavaScript/TypeScript, Angular, ASP.NET, HTML5, and React.
- Understanding of advanced Knowledge of RESTful frameworks, with experience working with JSON and XML-based data exchange.
- Working knowledge of web application security principles (OWASP), including common vulnerabilities and best-practice prevention techniques.
- Comprehensive understanding of SDLC methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall, along with associated tools, processes, and best practices.
