About the position
A leading company is seeking an experienced Warehouse Manager to oversee day-to-day warehouse operations, stock control, logistics, staff management and customer delivery requirements.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient flow of stock through the warehouse, maintaining accurate inventory records, managing collections and deliveries, and ensuring compliance with health, safety and operational procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise daily warehouse operations.
- Oversee receiving, storage, picking and dispatch of goods.
- Manage inventory control and ensure stock accuracy.
- Conduct and coordinate regular stock takes.
- Monitor stock levels, quantities, delivery times and transport costs.
- Ensure all stock movements are accurately recorded.
- Plan and coordinate collections and deliveries.
- Ensure customer orders are processed efficiently and delivered on time.
- Liaise with customers, suppliers and transport companies.
- Resolve customer concerns and operational issues.
- Identify errors and implement corrective actions.
- Manage warehouse security and access control.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and company procedures.
- Monitor warehouse productivity and implement continuous improvements.
- Manage manpower requirements and adjust staffing levels according to operational needs.
- Supervise, train and develop warehouse staff.
- Maintain training records and ensure employees are competent in their roles.
- Monitor employee attendance and leave.
- Conduct quality and receiving audits.
- Ensure transactions and delivery documentation are traceable.
- Monitor the condition and maintenance of warehouse equipment and vehicles.
- Work closely with logistics, branch management, security and other relevant departments.
- Drive operational efficiencies and support cost-reduction initiatives.
Requirements
- Matric / Grade 12 – Essential.
- Diploma in Supply Chain / Warehouse Management – Preferred.
- 4–6 years’ experience in a warehouse management/supervisory role with people management experience.
- 6–8 years’ experience would be advantageous.
- Experience within a supply chain environment.
- Strong knowledge of inventory and warehouse management principles.
- Experience with MS Office 365.
- Knowledge of systems such as ZOHO, MRP and SharePoint would be advantageous.
