About the position
We are looking for a Transmission Substation Engineer with experience working across the transmission (up to 765kV).
The Energy Division of a leading consultancy provides specialist advice and services to internal and external clients.
Involved in a wide range of transmission projects in the energy, rail, nuclear, building and utilities sectors. Fantastic long-term opportunities working with our clients in areas such as Solar PV, onshore & offshore wind and interconnectors, utilities, nuclear, data centres and industrial facilities.
Your role will involve technical delivery and project management within a team but also working individually on various projects.
Requirements:
- BSc or BEng in Electrical Engineering or similar.
- Preferably professionally registered with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA)
- We are interested in all, or some of the skills and experience listed below, though not every single point is required to be considered
- Background in the design and delivery of EHV and HV (765kV-132kV) Substations, Primary or Secondary Plant along with skills in Analysis of these networks for AIS and GIS substations
- Client/project management in the capacity of a technical lead on project tasks
- Hands-on knowledge of substation design software such as: CDEGS and others.
- Ability to conduct lightning protection studies.
