About the position
A leading consultancy in the infrastructure and transport sector is looking for a skilled Traffic and Transport Engineer to join their team in either Cape Town or Gauteng. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional to work on a wide range of transport planning, traffic engineering, and infrastructure projects across South Africa.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct traffic impact and feasibility studies
- Perform transport modelling and data analysis
- Develop and review geometric road designs
- Prepare traffic engineering reports and technical documentation
- Liaise with municipal and provincial transport authorities
- Support project planning, cost estimation, and scheduling
- Provide input into transport infrastructure design and safety assessments
Requirements:
- BEng or BSc in Civil Engineering
- 5-10 years' relevant experience in traffic and transportation engineering
- Proficiency in traffic modelling software (e.g. SIDRA, VISSIM, SATURN, etc.)
- Strong understanding of transport planning policies and design standards
- Experience with road geometric design will be advantageous
- Excellent communication and report writing skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
