Theatre Unit Manager

About the position

Our client is seeking an experienced and dynamic Theatre Unit Manager to lead a busy Operating Theatre department in the Western Cape. This opportunity is ideal for a strong clinical leader with extensive theatre experience, sound operational knowledge, and a passion for delivering exceptional patient care and team performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the daily operations and management of the Theatre Unit
• Ensure the delivery of safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care
• Manage staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation within the department
• Monitor compliance with healthcare regulations, quality standards, and Occupational Health and Safety requirements
• Maintain effective stock control and resource management processes
• Drive continuous quality improvement initiatives and staff development programmes
• Foster strong relationships with multidisciplinary healthcare teams

Requirements:

• Registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Registered Nurse
• Post Basic Diploma in Operating Theatre Technique
• Minimum 5 years' operational experience within a Theatre Unit
• Scrub experience in Cardiothoracic, Neurosurgery and/or Ophthalmology advantageous
• Previous management experience advantageous
• Experience with stock management and accurate record keeping
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
• Knowledge of the Kronos System
