About the position
Test Manager
An Institutional department is undergoing a strategic transformation involving the implementation of a new operating model. As part of this initiative, several key middle and back-office functions will be outsourced to a third-party service provider.
To ensure successful delivery and quality assurance, the programme requires an experienced Test Manager to lead testing across all project workstreams and ensure a consistent, risk-managed approach to quality throughout the implementation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and implement the overarching Project Test Strategy.
- Manage and mitigate quality-related risks across the programme.
- Ensure quality governance is in place and actively monitored.
- Drive a risk-based, quality-gated testing approach.
- Plan and coordinate testing activities within and across multiple workstreams.
- Promote and enforce software testing best practices.
- Define, monitor, and report on project quality metrics.
- Liaise and collaborate with business and IT stakeholders including project sponsors, project managers, workstream leads, and domain owners.
- Oversee the test governance and delivery quality of third-party vendors.
- Promote and leverage test automation wherever feasible to enhance efficiency.
Experience & Qualifications:
- A relevant business or IT degree.
- Formal Testing and Quality Assurance certification (e.g. ISTQB).
- At least 10 years' experience in testing, with 5 years in a test management role.
- Proven track record in managing quality across complex, high-risk system implementations involving multiple streams.
- Experience managing internal teams, contractors, and external vendors.
- Demonstrated ability to ensure delivery quality in outsourced or vendor-supported environments.
- Strong understanding of systems integration and architectural complexity.
- Leadership experience and stakeholder engagement skills at a senior level.
