Sales Consultant - Catering & Hospitality Equipment

Reports To: Branch Manager

salary: R20 000 pm
About the Role:
We are seeking a dynamic Sales Consultant for our Durban branch. The ideal candidate will leverage sales expertise and industry knowledge to drive growth, build strong client relationships, and deliver tailored catering equipment solutions that enhance operational efficiency for foodservice clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Order Management:
- Manage orders from placement to payment completion.
- Process returns and credit notes per company procedures.
- Ensure timely updates on shipment dates.
- Handle quote submissions and order processing efficiently.
Sales Targets Achievement:
- Meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
- Develop and grow new client accounts.
- Produce weekly and monthly sales reports versus targets.
Client Relationship Management:
- Understand and manage client expectations.
- Generate leads through existing and potential client relationships.
- Enhance customer experience and provide excellent service before and after sales.
- Refer client complaints to the appropriate manager.
- Maintain and update the customer database.
Product Knowledge & Promotion:
- Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of products and services.
- Present and recommend suitable products to clients.
- Conduct sales presentations, negotiations, and cold-calling activities.
Upselling & Cross-Selling:
- Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities to increase average deal size.
- Maintain a target percentage of sales revenue from existing clients.
Team Collaboration & Sales Support:
- Provide administrative and quotation support to the external sales team.
- Actively participate in internal meetings, sales briefings, and product training sessions.
- Perform other related tasks and responsibilities as required.

Requirements:
- Grade 12 or NQF 4 equivalent.
- 3-5 years of experience in a sales position, preferably in an industrial or hospitality environment.
- Knowledge of Syspro and catering equipment is advantageous.
- Experience managing stakeholders.
- Own transport and a valid driver's license.
Skills:
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Project management experience.
