About the position
Main Purpose
? a critical liaison between the Proposals Department and the Engineering Department.
? ensures technical accuracy, feasibility, and alignment of proposed solutions with client
requirements.
Qualifications and Experience
? At least 5 years work experience in the transformer and minisubs industry.
? Matric with a recognised and relevant technical sales qualification – N3.
Duties and Responsibilities
? Supervise and mentor Proposal Engineers, providing technical guidance and proposal
strategy insights.
? Support Cost Estimation - Coordinating with engineering and procurement for materials,
equipment, and labour estimates.
? Manage technical queries and clarifications during bid phases.
? Serve as the primary technical authority in the proposal process, reviewing and approving
technical deliverables, methodologies, and solutions.
? Ensure compliance with RFP/RFQ requirements, technical specifications, and internal
standards.
? Maintain and improve standard technical proposal materials and best practices.
? Drive continuous improvement in proposal processes, templates, and standard technical
content.
? Maintain a library of standard technical content, engineering recommendations, and past
project data to support future proposals.
? Interface with engineering teams to gather technical inputs, validate feasibility, and ensure
accurate costing and deliverables.
? Prepare and review technical sections of proposals, including design concepts,
methodologies, and technical clarifications.
? Participate in technical clarifications and presentations to clients, when needed.
? Track and document all technical assumptions, exclusions, and deviations in proposals.
Customers:
? Assisting customers with technical queries.
? Provide technical support to customers.
? Regularly following up with clients as to the status / success of tenders / quotations submitted
and part take in pre-order negotiations.
? Site inspections.
