About the position

Tax Compliance Officer - Pretoria

Permanent - State-Owned Forestry & Timber Leader.

Our client is seeking a tax specialist ready to take your career to the next level in a dynamic, high-impact role.

Based at the client's head offices in Pretoria, you will drive tax compliance, optimising tax positions, and influencing financial decision-making at a corporate group level.

What We're Looking For:

  • Degree in Taxation (Honours advantageous).
  • Minimum 5 years' solid tax experience in preparing and completing tax returns & reconciliations.
  • Proven experience with IFRS (especially Deferred Tax) and SARS engagements.
  • SAGE system knowledge will be advantageous.
  • Strong attention to detail, deadline-driven, and solutions-oriented.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, review, and submit tax returns for the group.
  • Ensure compliance with tax legislation and optimise the tax position.
  • Liaise with SARS on audits, rulings, and directives.
  • Provide tax advisory support across the business.
  • Assist with IFRS-compliant financial disclosures.
