About the position
My client based in Constantia, Western Cape is currently looking for a Systems Analyst to join their team on a permanent basis.
IT / FINANCE
Responsibilities
- Monitor the overall health and performance of systems on a daily basis.
- Monitor, maintain and improve daily system controls.
- Ensure the integrity and accuracy of business and market data.
- Engage with business users to identify, source and manage new data integration requirements.
- Test new instrument types and validate end-to-end system integrity.
- Test and recreate system calculations to verify the accuracy and functionality of financial systems.
- Analyse system behaviour and identify potential issues or inconsistencies.
- Implement system configuration changes that affect application views, functionality and behaviour.
- Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with vendors and IT implementation teams to implement system changes and enhancements.
- Perform system configuration changes in line with business requirements.
- Provide technical support to the Investment Management Team and assist with resolving system-related issues.
Qualifications & Experience
- Relevant degree or diploma, preferably in Engineering, Accounting, Mathematics, Computer Science or a related field.
- Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in a technology, systems or financial services environment.
- Exposure to programming, scripting or technical system configuration.
- Experience analysing system behaviour and identifying opportunities to improve IT systems and processes.
- Demonstrated ability to investigate and solve complex technical and system-related problems.
- Strong understanding of system functionality, data integrity and system controls.
Advantageous:
- Experience with order management or trading systems.
- Experience with unit trust or fund accounting systems.
- Experience in financial data analysis.
- Knowledge of financial/market instruments, including Fixed Income.
- Understanding of investment management processes and financial calculations.
- Exposure to investment management or financial markets environments.
