About the position
The resources will provide these services following the acquisition of the IBM DB2 Enterprise Analyser for NPSD/PEM to analyze IBM DB2 transaction logs for tasks like data recovery, auditing, and performance monitoring. This requires a database administrator or a specialist to interpret log data to track who changed what, when, and how, which aids in troubleshooting, auditing, and ensuring data integrity. The analysis supports actions such as recovering dropped objects, replaying changes for replication, and creating reports on data modification. The main purpose of the new job roles is to be responsible for administering, optimizing, monitoring, and finetuning databases on DB2 for z/OS mainframe. Perform various related database functions across multiple teams or clients, including designing, implementing, and maintaining new databases, backup/recovery, and configuration management. Preferred Skills: DB2 v11 or v12 or v13 in a z/OS environment Certification Competencies:
It requires the ability to manage IBM DB2 monitoring with EventLog Analyzer, comprehensive log management tool knowledge, advanced capabilities for gathering, tracking, and analyzing logs from IBM Db2 databases. Requires the ability to meticulously analyze reports on all changes made using Data Definition Language (DDL) and Data Manipulation Language (DML) commands, while also monitoring user interactions with the database.
Understanding of a database management tool e.g. Performance monitor, schedulers, e.g.
o DB2 Query Monitor for zOS
o DB2 SQL Performance Analyser
o OPTIM query Workload Tuner
o DB2 Administrator Tool for zOS
o DB2 for zOS
