My client based in Waterfall, Johannesburg is currently looking for a Senior Software Developer to join their team on a permanent basis.

Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and support a team of software developers, promoting collaboration, innovation, knowledge sharing, and continuous development.
- Collaborate with business and cross-functional teams to define and execute the technical roadmap in line with business objectives and customer needs.
- Lead the design, development, optimisation, and delivery of scalable, reliable, secure, and high-quality software solutions.
- Provide technical guidance and ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to required quality standards.
- Take ownership and accountability for projects and technical deliverables from initiation through to completion.
- Design and develop transactional websites, line-of-business systems, and digital solutions supporting the organisation's digital transformation.
- Develop secure and scalable code that supports digital products and enhances client journeys.
- Participate in peer reviews of solution designs, architecture, and source code.
- Establish and promote development best practices, processes, standards, and tools.
- Identify opportunities to improve development workflows, efficiency, scalability, and technical standards.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends and assess their relevance to the business.
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation across technology delivery.
- Work closely with stakeholders to understand business and client requirements and translate these into effective technical solutions.
- Ensure solutions provide measurable business value while meeting functional and technical requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
- BCom, BSc, or equivalent degree/qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Development, or a related field.
- Minimum 7 years' software development experience.
- Previous experience working in a Tech Lead / Senior Software Development role.
- Strong understanding of the full software development lifecycle and software development processes.
- Proven experience working within Agile/Scrum environments.
- Strong experience with C# and .NET.
- Experience with SQL Server 2012+.
- Experience with ASP.NET Web Forms and MVC 2.0+.
- Experience with ASP.NET Core, including Web API and Windows Services.
- Strong knowledge of modern JavaScript libraries/frameworks such as Angular, jQuery, KnockoutJS, BackboneJS, Underscore, Foundation, or similar.
- Strong knowledge of HTML5.
- Experience with RESTful services.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
- Exposure to or experience with Cloud PaaS environments.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience designing and delivering scalable and secure software solutions.
- Experience mentoring developers and providing technical leadership.
