About the position
The role will also be responsible for managing delivery dependencies and integration across SAP, E-invoicing, and Transfer Pricing initiatives. This is a senior delivery role requiring an individual who can manage a technically complex, integration-heavy programme in a regulated environment, while coordinating multiple business and technology stakeholders, internal delivery teams, and external partners.
The Senior Project Manager ‘s responsibilities will include the following:
Mandate
- Leading the end-to-end delivery of the Integration Modernisation project.
- Managing the BT to AWS migration of the IBM clientConnect platform.
- Overseeing the modernisation and migration of ESB interfaces.
- Managing project delivery across E-invoicing and Transfer Pricing.
- Coordinating all delivery dependencies with SAP and related enterprise workstreams.
- Driving governance, planning, risk management, stakeholder engagement, testing, cutover, and transition into support.
- Ensuring delivery is managed in line with GxP validation and compliance requirements.
Responsibilities:
Project and Delivery Management:
- Lead the projects from initiation through to closure.
- Define scope, deliverables, workstreams, timelines, and dependencies.
- Develop and maintain integrated project plans across all in-scope initiatives.
- Track milestones and manage the critical path.
- Ensure structured communication and delivery across technical and business team.
Integration Modernisation Management:
- Manage the migration of IBM clientConnect from BT to AWS.
- Coordinate infrastructure, integration, architecture, security, and support teams.
- Oversee the migration and modernisation of ESB interfaces.
- Manage sequencing, technical readiness, interface transition planning, and business impact.
- Manage dependencies across:
- Projects in scope.
- Ensure that risks, conflicts, resource constraints, release windows, and environment. dependencies are actively managed.
- Maintain visibility of shared milestones and cross-project impacts.
Governance and Reporting:
- Run governance forums, project meetings, working sessions, and steering updates.
- Maintain project plans, RAID logs, decision logs, action trackers, and status reporting.
- Provide clear executive reporting and timely escalation where required.
Stakeholder and Vendor Management:
- Coordinate internal and external stakeholders.
- Build strong working relationships across business, technology, architecture, infrastructure, SAP, finance, tax, and vendor teams.
- Drive accountability and alignment across multiple parties.
Testing, Cutover and Transition:
- Coordinate SIT, UAT, deployment readiness, cutover planning, go-live, and hypercare.
- Ensure operational readiness and handover into support.
- Manage business and technical readiness for transition.
GxP and Compliance Alignment:
- Ensure project planning and execution aligns to required validation and compliance processes.
- Coordinate with QA and validation stakeholders.
- Ensure required documentation, evidence, traceability, and approvals are planned and delivered.
Minimum Requirements:
Requirements & Skills:
- Min: Relevant NQF 7 degree (IT, Engineering, or similar).
- Strong integration / middleware / ESB experience.
- Strong SAP technical and functional knowledge.
- Understanding of GxP validation processes.
- Experience delivering cloud / infrastructure migration (AWS preferred).
- Formal PM certification (Scrum, PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent) advantageous.
Required Experience:
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in project management, preferably in complex enterprise technology environments.
- Demonstrated experience managing large-scale integration or middleware modernisation programmes.
- Proven experience delivering infrastructure or platform migration projects, preferably into AWS or a similar cloud environment.
- Strong experience managing integration-heavy projects with multiple system dependencies.
- Proven experience managing delivery where SAP is a core dependency.
- Experience managing multiple related projects or workstreams in parallel.
- Experience coordinating technical, business, vendor, and support teams.
- Strong governance, planning, risk, issue, dependency, and executive reporting capability.
- Experience in a regulated environment, ideally pharmaceutical, life sciences, healthcare, or similar.
Required Expertise:
Strong Integration Expertise. Demonstrate strong understanding of:
- Enterprise integration environments.
- ESB / middleware landscapes.
- Interface migration and modernisation.
- API / message / file-based integration patterns.
- Complex system dependency management.
- Cross-system testing and cutover planning.
Strong SAP Technical and Functional Knowledge. Operate confidently in an SAP-centric environment and understand both:
SAP Technical:
- SAP integration patterns interpretation.
- Interfaces between SAP and external platforms.
- Middleware / ESB / API integration related to SAP.
- Release and dependency impacts where SAP is involved.
SAP Functional:
- High-level understanding of key SAP business processes and dependencies.
- Ability to engage meaningfully with functional teams across relevant process areas.
- Awareness of the impact integration or platform changes may have on business processes supported by SAP.
Understanding of GxP Validation Processes:
Must demonstrate:
- Experience working in a GxP-regulated environment.
- Familiarity with computer system validation (CSV) processes.
- Understanding of validation planning, documentation, testing, approvals, and traceability.
- Ability to integrate validation activities into project delivery plans.
- Awareness of audit readiness, documentation control, and compliance requirements.
