About the position
We are seeking a Senior Programme Manager to lead a high-visibility programme within the Store Operations space. This role will sit close to the business and will require someone who can engage confidently with the Head of Store Operations as the key business owner, while also working across other senior executives and impacted business areas.
This is likely less of a purely technical PM role and more of a business-led transformation / operations delivery role, where the person needs to bring structure, control, stakeholder alignment and strong execution discipline.
Core purpose of the role:
- The Senior Programme Manager will be responsible for driving a strategic Store Operations programme, ensuring that business objectives are clearly understood, delivery teams are aligned, dependencies are managed, and executive stakeholders have clear visibility of progress, risks and decisions required.
- The role needs someone who can operate at both strategic and execution level — engaging senior stakeholders while still managing the detail required to land change in a large operational retail environment.
Key focus areas:
- Lead a Store Operations-related programme.
- Work directly with the Head of Store Operations as the main business owner.
- Engage with executives and senior business stakeholders across impacted areas.
- Translate business needs into a structured delivery roadmap.
- Manage programme scope, timelines, risks, issues, dependencies and decision points.
- Coordinate across business, technology, operations, vendors and support teams.
- Ensure strong governance, reporting and stakeholder communication.
- Drive delivery discipline, accountability and follow-through.
- Manage business readiness, change impact, rollout planning and operational adoption.
- Ensure the programme lands successfully in stores without unnecessary disruption.

- Experienced in retail, store operations, branch operations, distribution, customer operations or large operational environments.
- Comfortable working across business and technology teams.
- Strong in programme governance, reporting and stakeholder management.
- Able to challenge constructively and hold people accountable.
- Experienced in managing complex dependencies across multiple workstreams.
- Strong at bringing structure to ambiguity.
- Calm under pressure and able to manage politically complex environments.

- Retail store operations programmes.

- POS, store systems, workforce management, inventory, fulfilment or customer operations.
- Business process improvement.
