JOB SUMMMARY: My Client, an established multidisciplinary engineering consultancy is seeking an experienced and professionally registered Structural Engineer to join their growing Cape Town operation. This opportunity is ideally suited to a technically strong professional with extensive building design expertise, proven project delivery capability, and the ability to manage complex engineering projects from concept through to completion. Key responsibilities will include: -

• The successful incumbent will play a critical role in the delivery of multidisciplinary infrastructure and structural engineering projects and will be responsible for:
• Conceptual and detailed structural design across multiple complex projects
• Delivering efficient and innovative structural engineering solutions
• Undertaking structural analysis and design using relevant engineering software and first-principle calculations
• Managing project quality assurance throughout the project lifecycle
• Mentoring and supervising Engineers, Technicians and Graduates
• Managing sub-consultants and coordinating multidisciplinary teams
• Assisting with project budgeting, forecasting, revenue recognition and financial planning
• Preparing technical reports, tender submissions, EOIs, RFQs and proposals
• Ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget
• Developing and maintaining strong client relationships
• Supporting business development initiatives and identifying opportunities for repeat business
• Representing the company professionally at client meetings, presentations and technical conferences

Requirements / Criteria

• Bachelor of Engineering Degree (or higher qualification) from an accredited institution
• Professionally Registered as a Pr Eng or Pr Tech
• Minimum 10 years' professional engineering experience
• Minimum 2-3 years post professional registration experience
• Strong structural engineering and building design expertise
• Proven experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
• Excellent report writing and communication skills
• Strong commercial understanding including budgeting, forecasting and project financial management
• Professional, client-facing approach with strong stakeholder engagement capability
