About the position
Senior Product Engineer
We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer with strong expertise in COBOL and IMS environments to support the delivery of a range of optimization and strategic initiatives. The role will contribute directly to the enhancement and modernization of mainframe-based systems, particularly within the context of cryptography, EMV, and payment processing.
This position offers exposure to critical, high-performance systems and the opportunity to work with modern integration technologies as part of broader modernization efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Application Development: Design, code, test, and debug mainframe applications in COBOL within an IMS environment.
- System Maintenance: Modify and enhance existing applications to improve performance, stability, and functionality.
- Collaboration: Work closely with developers, system engineers, and business analysts to deliver robust and scalable solutions.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex issues within mainframe applications and related infrastructure.
- Documentation: Produce and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications, code comments, and support manuals.
- Testing: Conduct unit, system, and integration testing to ensure high-quality releases.
- Deployment Support: Assist with deploying applications and changes into production environments.
- Modernization: Contribute to initiatives aimed at integrating legacy systems with modern technologies and frameworks.
Required Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years working in IBM Mainframe environments.
- Strong experience (5+ years) with COBOL programming, IMS databases, JCL, and Eazytrieve.
- At least 2 years working with payment systems, including understanding of EMV and cryptographic processes.
