Senior Mechanical Engineer (EPCM - Mining - ECSA - Cape Town)

About the position

Our client, a global professional engineering and project delivery services company, is looking to hire Lead/ Senior Mechanical Engineer to be based at their Pinelands, Cape Town offices (with travel to client sites on an as and when needed basis).

Minimum Requirements:

• Recognised Tertiary Qualification in Mechanical Engineering
• 10+ years postgraduate experience in a similar position.
• Registered ECSA Professional Engineer or Professional Engineering Technologist.
• South African Citizen of Permanent Resident
• Cape Town based
• Extremely well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
• Build and sustain positive relationships with all stakeholders, including clients, vendors and co-workers.
• Display the core values and ethos of the business.
• Solid technical aptitude, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision whilst consistently producing a high quality of deliverables
• Demonstrated ability to achieve consistently high standards within both budgetary and schedule constraints.

Main duties will include, but are not limited to:

• Providing proficient and accurate design input for the production of mechanical drawings;
• Conducting timely reviews of Project mechanical drawings to achieve full compliance with design intent;
• Performing accurate engineering design and calculations in accordance with Project, Client and regulatory standards;
• Interpreting engineering drawings, documents, specifications and scopes;
• Identifying scope variations and prepare relevant documentation accordingly;
• Ensuring correctly specified equipment is sourced to meet project deliverables.
