Purpose of the role
As the Senior IT Manager, you'll be at the helm of the company's IT operations, ensuring the infrastructure and IT governance is robust, secure, and scalable. You'll lead a talented team, drive strategic initiatives, and shape the future of the tech landscape.
Role and Responsibilities
INFRASTRUCTURE SUPPORT / IT MANAGEMENT
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the IT department, ensuring effective management and monitoring controls.
- Lead rapid response to network outages and hardware issues, ensuring minimal disruption and swift resolution.
- Monitor operational performance and implement proactive measures to prevent recurring issues.
- Act as the final escalation point for major incidents and service outages.
- Managing internal support desk.
- Support procurement activities for hardware, software, and services.
- Lead cybersecurity initiatives, including vulnerability management, patching, and threat mitigation.
- IT strategic planning and budgeting.
- Monitor operational performance and implement proactive measures to prevent recurring issues.
- Develop, enforce, and maintain IT policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure operational efficiency and compliance.
- Oversee backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning, ensuring readiness for potential IT disruptions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align infrastructure capabilities with business objectives and project requirements.
- Participate in strategic planning forums to improve IT operations and define future technology initiatives.
EXTERNAL IT SOLUTION AND DELIVERY
- Lead rapid response to network outages and hardware issues, ensuring minimal disruption and swift resolution.
- IT services delivery for managed services.
- Support the onboarding of new managed services clients into the NOC and SOC.
- Collaboration in the implementation of managed services solutions.
- Ownership, management, and operational implementation of ITIL-aligned processes.
- Infrastructure monitoring, ensuring availability and reliability of IT services.
- Support and collaboration implementation of solutions with project management and bid office.
- Ensuring effective transition from project delivery into operational support.
- Manage vendor relationships related to infrastructure and security.
IT GOVERNANCE COMPLIANCE
- Develop, enforce, and maintain IT policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure operational efficiency and compliance.
- Internal and External IT service frameworks.
- Own and drive security governance across the organisation.
- Liaise with auditors, regulators, clients, and internal stakeholders on security and compliance matters.
- Own and drive information security governance across the organisation.
- Lead ISO 27001 compliance and audit readiness processes.
LEADERSHIP TEAM MANAGEMENT
- Strategic reporting to the COO and executive leadership
- Act as a trusted advisor to internal departments and key clients
- Identify skills gaps and support training and capability uplift.
- Lead, mentor, and develop IT engineers and support staff.
- Foster a collaborative, accountable, and high-performance culture.
- Identify skills gaps and support training and capability uplift.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and succession planning within the IT function.
Qualifications
- 3-year Degree / N-diploma (NQF 6) preferably in Information Technology or related studies
Experience
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in IT, leading the NOC and SOC environment

- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
- ITIL Practitioner V4 Certification
- CompTIA Network+
