About the position
Senior Manager: Core Networks
Responsible for overseeing the operation, performance, and strategic evolution of the core network infrastructure. This includes leading a high-performing team, ensuring network reliability, scalability, and security, and aligning network initiatives with broader business goals.
- Bachelor's or Master's in Telecommunications, Computer Science, Engineering
- 8-10 years in network or telecom management
- Minimum 5 years in a leadership role managing core networks
- Proven experience in CS/PS/IMS networks, LTE, 5G, SIP, Diameter, SS7
- Deep understanding of 3GPP, ETSI, IETF standards and network design principles
Strong understanding of network architecture, redundancy, fault tolerance, and high availability
Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to resolve issues and align goals
- Security, Compliance & Planning
- Ensure the network meets all regulatory and security standards
- Implement measures to protect against threats and vulnerabilities
- Lead capacity planning and network scalability initiatives
Budgeting & Resource Management - Develop and manage budgets (Capex and Opex)
- Ensure projects and network upgrades are delivered on time and within budget
Disaster Recovery & Continuity - Lead the creation and testing of disaster recovery and business continuity plans
- Ensure the network can recover quickly from any disruptions
- Lead the design, deployment, and optimisation of core networks (CS, IMS, PS services)
- Develop and execute strategic plans to support future business and technology needs
- Ensure network performance, redundancy, and minimal service disruptions
- Manage vendor relationships and technology integrations
- Manage and mentor a team of engineers and network specialists
- Drive a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Oversee recruitment, training, and development within the team
- Performance & Incident Management
- Monitor KPIs and proactively manage network health
- Respond to incidents swiftly and conduct root cause analysis
- Ensure continuous service availability through strong operational oversight
