Our client, a well-established and respected organisation within the professional sports industry, is seeking an experienced Senior HR Generalist to join their team in Durban
Education and Experience:
- Diploma or Degree in Human Resource Management or a related field
- Minimum of 3-5 years' relevant HR experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Sound understanding of South African labour legislation and HR best practices
Knowledge and Skills:
- Demonstrate a high level of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail
- Proven employee relations and conflict management experience
- Strong administrative and organisational capabilities
- Excellent planning, coordination, and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and perform effectively under pressure

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee the end-to-end recruitment process, including job advertising, candidate screening, interviewing, onboarding, and offboarding procedures
- Coordinate and facilitate employee induction and onboarding initiatives
- Prepare, review, and maintain employment contracts, policies, job descriptions, SLA's, and related HR documentation
- Manage employee relations matters, including disciplinary hearings, grievances, counselling sessions, and workplace investigations
- Represent the organisation in CCMA proceedings and other labour-related matters
- Coordinate and support the performance management process across the organisation
- Review and approve leave requests on the ESS platform while maintaining accurate leave records and reporting
- Ensure compliance with Employment Equity, BBBEE, POPIA, and applicable South African labour legislation
- Compile and submit statutory and compliance reports, including BBBEE, Employment Equity, SETA, and Skills Development submissions
- Maintain HR systems and employee records, ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality
- Provide support with payroll administration, including wages, overtime, casual staff, and event-related payments
- Administer employee benefits and leave processes
- Coordinate training interventions, learnership programmes, and SETA-related initiatives
- Manage COIDA/IOD administration, including claim submissions, stakeholder liaison, and claims tracking on the Compeasy system
- Liaise with medical practitioners, service providers, and benefit administrators regarding employee-related claims and submissions
- Monitor adherence to company policies and procedures relating to attendance, timekeeping, leave documentation, and medical certificates
- Support POPIA compliance initiatives in the capacity of Deputy Information Officer
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Coordinate fleet administration activities, including vehicle inspections, maintenance scheduling, and service provider management
