About the position
Design, implement and document data modelling solutions which include but not limited to the use of relational, dimensional and NoSQL databases.
Develop and maintain conceptual, logical and physical data models as required by client’s business units and their various programmes.
Identify and adopt an enterprise data model as a standard for data model designs to leverage best practice and fast track modelling efforts.
Monitor, measure and report the data modelling and data development quality levels to ensure the correct information is captured on business requirements.
Assume the key responsibility for remediation of data models and data development issues.
Perform reverse engineering of physical data models from databases and SQL scripts.

To develop and manage stakeholder relations effectively to promote data modelling awareness across the organisation and support reliable decision making.

Minimum Requirements:
Minimum Qualification Required:
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Management OR equivalent.
A minimum of five to eight years’ experience in a data management environment.
Additional requirements include:
Capacity and performance management.
Extensive knowledge of best practices/methodologies in data warehousing and multi-dimensional Data modelling (OLAP e.g. ESSBASE or Microsoft Analysis Services), system design and management.
Extensive knowledge of most data modelling techniques.
Extensive knowledge of the most common RDBMS technologies (e.g. Oracle, IBM, SQL Server, MySQL).
Experience in deploying and managing big bata environments (e.g. HADOOP, SPARK and NoSQL).
Knowledge of database query languages (e.g. SQL).
Experience with a variety of programming languages, including but not limited to JAVA and C#.
Experience in using a broad variety of integration techniques, patterns, tools and methodologies.
The following will be an added advantage:
Certification and experience with the following will be an added advantage.
AWS, Informatica Tool Stack, SAS, ERWIN, Python and R, Teradata.
