About the position

The Opportunity

We are looking for a seasoned and dynamic Sales Manager to lead our expansion efforts throughout the African continent and the Middle East. This is a critical role for an individual who is passionate about building new business channels and driving growth in diverse and challenging markets. As a key member of our global team, you will be instrumental in leveraging our established 20-year presence in South Africa to penetrate new territories.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to penetrate and grow new markets in Africa and the Middle East.
  • Identify, recruit, and manage new distribution channels and partners to extend our reach.
  • Lead the entire sales cycle, from initial lead generation to contract negotiation and closing deals.
  • Establish and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key stakeholders, including distributors, system integrators, and end-users across all target sectors.
  • Navigate the complex political and commercial landscapes of various African and Middle Eastern countries, leveraging local knowledge and relationships.
  • Market our full range of security solutions, including our Command Centre software, integrated access control systems, robust perimeter hardware, and advanced high-security products.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a seamless sales process and optimal customer satisfaction.
  • Achieve and exceed ambitious sales targets and key performance indicators (KPIs).

Essential Requirements

  • A minimum of 10 years of commercial sales experience with a significant focus on the African continent.
  • Extensive commercial travel experience throughout Africa is a must.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of distribution channels and the mechanics of doing business in diverse African countries, including East, West, Central, and Southern Africa.
  • Proven ability to establish and grow new markets from the ground up, with a track record of building successful partnerships.
  • A strong understanding of the sales process and experience in managing a complex sales pipeline.

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience or exposure to the security industry (e.g., access control, CCTV, intruder alarms) would be highly beneficial.
  • Experience selling to any of our target sectors (e.g., Mining, Utilities, Government) is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a remote territory effectively.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • A deep understanding of local politics and business cultures.
