About the position
Purpose of this position is to embed and maintain risk management frameworks, policies and processes within the Financial Department (FinStab) to respond to risk exposures and leverage on opportunities
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Embed all of company risk management and compliance, frameworks, policies, processes, methodologies and systems.
- Analyse and understand the business environment within which FinStab operates to undertake risk, compliance, ethics, audit, incident and project risk management activities to support and guide the identification of risks and opportunities.
- Scan the external environment to identify emerging risks within the financial environment and ensure that the company is aware and takes the appropriate actions.
- Prepare and liaise with relevant Finstab divisions and facilitate risk assessment workshops, using the company’s risk management policies, frameworks, methodologies, processes and information systems.
- Identify changes in the applicable legislations/regulations and local/international standards that may have impact on the objectives of FinStab.
- Capture, track and manage progress on the implementation of all FinStab risk and audit response strategies and compile reports for different forums.
- Consolidate, maintain and report on the centralised risk incidents database for FinStab.
- Create awareness within FinStab for risk, compliance, ethics, audit, incident and project risk management activities to support and guide the identification of risks and opportunities.
- Schedule and facilitate regular operational and specialised risk assessments, including business impact and business continuity plan assessments as well as co-ordinate incident response and recovery.
- Act as the central point of contact between Finstab, the RMCD and Internal Audit as well as communicate and disseminate risk related information.
- Report to the Risk and Compliance department (Hub) on Finstab risk and compliance activities.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
To be considered for this position, candidates must have:
- A Bachelor’s degree (NQF 7) in Auditing or Risk Management, or an equivalent qualification; and
- Five to eight years of experience in a relevant environment (e.g. auditing, risk management).
The following would be an added advantage:
- Being a Certified Risk Professional.
