About the position

Manager: Employee Benefits & Remuneration

This is a senior specialist leadership opportunity for a reward professional who is passionate about creating competitive remuneration and benefits strategies that attract, retain, and motivate talent while supporting organisational performance and transformation objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
Total Reward Strategy

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Total Reward Strategy aligned to organisational goals and workforce needs.
  • Ensure remuneration and benefits frameworks support attraction, retention, engagement, and performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement of reward practices, policies, and governance.

Remuneration & Benefits Management:

  • Lead the development and review of remuneration structures, salary frameworks, and reward policies.
  • Manage employee benefits programmes and ensure market competitiveness.
  • Oversee annual remuneration reviews and reward-related reporting.
  • Provide specialist advice on compensation, benefits, and reward trends.

Job Evaluation & Organisational Effectiveness:

  • Lead job evaluation processes and ensure consistency in grading, job profiling, and organisational structures.
  • Support organisational design and restructuring initiatives.
  • Ensure alignment between job architecture, remuneration, and workforce planning.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Honours Degree in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, Business Management, or a related field.
  • Postgraduate qualification (Master's Degree) in Human Resources, Psychology, Remuneration, Payroll
  • 9+ years' experience within a Compensation, Benefits, and Reward environment.
  • At least 5 years' experience in a specialist leadership or management capacity.
  • Proven experience in remuneration strategy, benefits management, job evaluation, and organisational design.
  • Knowledge of reward governance, performance management systems, and workforce planning.
  • Membership of the South African Rewards Association (SARA) and Remuneration Specialist certification.
