Job Description: Registered Nurse (RN)
Job Title: Registered Nurse
Department: Clinic Department
Experience Requirements
- Must have experience in gerontology/geriatrics and the ageing process
- Nursing care plans
- Writing progress reports
- Nursing assessments of the aged, including the physically and/or mentally frail
Educational Requirements
- Must have Registered Nurse (RN) qualifications
- SANC registration is mandatory
Human Relations Requirements
- Positive and proactive in caring for the aged
- Dedicated and committed to identifying needs and providing nursing care
- Observant, enthusiastic, patient, empathetic
- Understands client limitations
Job Knowledge Requirements
- Competent in:
- Nursing assessments
- Design of nursing care plans
- Coordination of activities of daily living in line with medical needs
- Scheduling activities and resources
- Delivering services to residents
- Diagnosis and (within legal constraints) treatment of illnesses
- Medication management and control
- Computer proficiency is essential
