Quality Manager
Role Overview
The Quality Manager is a senior, hands-on role responsible for quality assurance across all company branches. The role requires a Red Seal qualified Diesel Mechanic/Engine Builder with 5–8 years’ experience in a quality or senior technical role within the mining, heavy engineering, or automotive environment. The position ensures all engine rebuilds, servicing, and maintenance comply with ISO standards, OEM specifications (Deutz/Cummins preferred), and mine site requirements, while driving consistency, reliability, and continuous improvement across multi-site operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS).
- Ensure compliance with ISO, OEM, mining, and internal standards.
- Oversee quality control for engine rebuilds, servicing, and diagnostics.
- Conduct branch audits and root cause analysis on failures and repeat issues.
- Standardise quality procedures across all branches.
- Support branch managers and manage corrective actions (CAPA).
- Handle customer quality issues and sign off on major rebuilds and warranties.
- Drive initiatives to reduce rework and improve reliability.
Minimum Requirements
- National Diploma or Degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering.
- Red Seal Diesel Mechanic / Engine Builder (mandatory).
- 5–8 years’ relevant industry experience.
- Strong engine rebuild and diagnostic background.
- ISO system experience; Deutz/Cummins exposure advantageous.
- Willingness to travel between branches and sites.
