About the position
A well-known injection blow moulding plastic manufacturing company requires packaging manufacturing company providing packaging into the personal care industry requires the above to conduct and communicate quality-control tests and/or inspections of products supplied and sent to customers. You will work closely with the manufacturing plant through to the laboratory, ensuring that the finished product supplied meets customer needs.
Minimum requirements for the role:
- Must have a min matric.
- A tertiary qual in quality or related is preferred but not essential.
- Previous experience having worked in a senior quality control position within a manufacturing or distribution company is essential for the role.
- Previous experience having worked in a quality management role within the plastic manufacturing (injection moulding, blow moulding, or similar), industry is preferred but not essential.
- Proficiency with quality systems: ISO 9001, HACCP, GMP, etc is preferred.
- Must have experience managing people.
- Must be iso trained and be familiar with running internal and external audits.
- Must have proficient computer and Microsoft Office skills.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Conducting and communicating quality-control tests and inspections of products supplied and sent to customers. You will work closely with the manufacturing plant through to the laboratory ensuring that the finished product supplied meets customer needs.
- Ensuring that the finished good supplied to the customers meets the company’s quality standards and the customer’s needs.
- Carrying out the procedural quality checks on the manufactured products.
- Performing visual inspection of finished goods and signing off on the end product.
- Generating quality reports to senior management.
- Driving and maintaining a Quality Management System (QMS) aligned with the company’s standards, ISO 9001, GMP, etc frameworks.
- Overseeing the inspection and testing of products at all production stages to ensure they meet specifications and customer requirements.
- Conducting regular audits to identify improvement areas, and enforce corrective actions.
- Detecting and documenting defects, coordinate root cause analysis, and manage corrective and preventive action (CAPA) to mitigate recurrence and customer complaints.
- Leading, motivating, and training quality personnel, operators, and packers.
- Ensuring quality data accuracy: qc records, inspection reports, KPIs, defect logs, and audit trails.
- Acting as the primary contact for customer quality concerns, complaints, and requests; collaborate cross-functionally to resolve issues swiftly.
