Quality Analyst

About the position

My client based in Cape Town is currently looking for a Quality Analyst to join their team on a contract basis.

Responsibilities

• Perform manual testing on web applications to identify defects and usability issues
• Develop and execute test cases, test plans, and test scripts based on business and functional requirements
• Report, track, and manage defects using tools such as Jira
• Conduct different types of testing, including regression, smoke, functional, exploratory, and API testing
• Prepare and maintain test environments and test data
• Document test results and provide clear feedback to improve product quality
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and other team members to ensure effective test coverage

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of software testing experience
• Strong knowledge of BDD (Behaviour Driven Development) and Gherkin syntax
• Experience with testing tools such as Selenium, Charles Proxy, Git, JMeter, or similar
• Solid experience with API testing
• Ability to write detailed, clear, and informative test cases
• Relevant certifications (e.g., ISTQB) are advantageous
• Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to build QA dashboards, track metrics, and communicate results effectively
