Lead & develop the food safety team in the maintenance and improvement of the food safety and quality management system.
Maintain and improve Quality of product within the facility by alignment of all work processes.
Action agreed quality initiatives ensuring that they are aligned to tasks/ processes/ systems.
Train and enforce technical rules, regulations, and legislation.
Report monthly on Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and trends.
Weekly and Monthly Technical review presentations to Senior Management and Customers.
Meet customer requirements and maintain and build strong stakeholder relationships.
Actively address all customer and supplier concerns.
Manage customer specifications changes, updates, enquiries, and complaints efficiently.
Manage customer complaint rating downwards and prevent reoccurrence.
Maintain record keeping and documentation in line with standard operating procedures and regulatory requirements.
Manage budgets and monitor expenses ensuring expenditure is within the budget.
Provide leadership to the team, defining objectives to be achieved by the department.
Deploy people management processes -performance management, career and succession
planning and employee relations, in line with organisational policies, procedures.
Manage the working environment and ensure it contributes to improving staff morale and increasing productivity.
Provide cross functional support to other departments, ensuring all are up to date with latest requirements and specifications.
Liaise with NPD on new product developments and reformulation of current products.
Monitor any trends in food and operational safety compliance issues and proactively address to resolve.
Adhere to, and lead in the compliance of all Environmental, Health and Safety and all other applicable regulatory statutes, and all other safety and quality systems.
Minimum ND Food Technology or BSc Food Science with 5-8 years with experience in a factory environment
Understanding and detailed knowledge of the Food Safety Management Systems and GMP requirements.
Clear understanding and implementation of GFSI standards (FSSC 22000, BRC, IQF or similar)
Audit exposure (Export, Halaal, AIB, IBL, FSSC 22000 etc.)
Ability to build an effective team.
Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
