Job Title: Production Plant Foreman
We are seeking an organised, hands-on, and results-driven Production Plant Foreman to oversee and optimise daily manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining high production standards, ensuring efficient use of resources, and leading a skilled team in a fast-paced environment.
Minimum Requirements
- Matric
- Strong proficiency in SketchUp (Non-negotiable)
- Previous experience managing a team
Advantageous Experience
- Experience in laser cutting processes
- Previous exposure to sheet metal manufacturing
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organise and supervise daily production activities to consistently meet and exceed customer requirements.
- Increase production capacity, efficiency and flexibility while reducing waste, unnecessary costs and downtime.
- Assume full accountability for production output, product quality and the on-time delivery of finished goods to the warehouse.
- Allocate labour, equipment and material resources effectively to ensure optimal utilisation of plant assets.
- Implement operational strategies aligned with company goals and provide clear direction to the production team.
- Continuously monitor plant operations and initiate corrective actions where needed.
- Build and maintain a collaborative, trusting and high-performing work environment while managing and developing plant staff.
- Gather, analyse and report on production data to identify inefficiencies, control overtime and minimise waste.
- Enforce company safety standards and actively promote a strong safety culture.
- Develop systems and processes to track and improve productivity, performance targets and operational standards.
- Address employee concerns, grievances and workplace issues promptly and fairly.
- Ensure accurate recording and submission of staff attendance to the HR department.
- Take timely and compliant disciplinary action when required.
- Train, guide and support employees to ensure competency, skills development and consistent work performance.
- Manage daily workflows, shift allocations and workload distribution.
- Conduct regular, constructive performance evaluations.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of production processes, machinery and equipment.
- Ensure all finished products are correctly labelled, stored and handled according to company requirements.
- Report machinery or equipment faults to the maintenance department and follow up until resolved.
- Ensure full compliance with all relevant safety regulations, policies and procedures.
- Oversee the accurate completion of all production documents, checklists and related paperwork.
