About the position
My client based in Johannesburg is currently looking for a Poultry Sales & Marketing Manager to join their team on a permanent basis.
Qualifications & Experience
- Honours degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, or related field
- MBA or equivalent qualification preferred
- Minimum 10 years in senior leadership roles in Sales, Marketing, and/or Logistics
- Proven experience in the South African poultry industry, including vertically integrated operations (feed ? growing ? abattoir ? value-add ? market)
- Track record in strategic planning, sales growth, export, and market expansion
- Experience in managing multiple sites
- Familiarity with CRM and ERP systems for sales, logistics, and reporting
- SA Poultry industry knowledge
- On-the-job training/familiarisation: 3 months
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic direction for sales, marketing, and logistics
- Lead, mentor, and develop senior and middle management teams
- Drive market expansion and brand positioning initiatives
- Establish sales and profitability targets, tracking KPIs
- Develop and implement sales strategies to meet/exceed targets
- Lead negotiations with key customers and stakeholders
- Identify new market opportunities locally and internationally
- Manage export processes and compliance
- Oversee supply chain efficiency from production to delivery
- Ensure alignment between sales, production, and distribution
- Monitor CRM and ERP data to optimize sales performance and customer service
- Oversee budgets, salaries, and operational costs
- Make strategic decisions aligned with profitability and sustainability goals
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal teams
- Provide clear and effective written and verbal communication to all stakeholders
