Plant Operator (Soap)

About the position

Soap Maker and Soap Plant Operator with the relevant experience required to ensure the smooth running of the soap manufacturing department whilst making improvements to boost production.

The company manufactures pure green bar soap, family soap and multi-purpose soap.

The role reports to the Site Manager.

Responsibilities of the role:

• Opening and closing of the Plant
• Soap Manufacturing
• Production Management
• General Maintenance of machinery
• Quality checking raw materials, on-line and finished product
• Staff management (including training and overseeing)
• Health and Safety measures
• Stock Control
• Trouble shooting

Duties include:

• Adding the fat, caustic, water and salt into the pot to convert into soap
• Once the saponification process has been completed, transferring the soap into the mixing pot where the colour, perfume and other ingredients are added
• Transferring the soap into the feed tank
• Transferring the soap into the vacuum chamber and duplex plodder where the finished soap will come out through the cutter and be packed into the box
• Opening the pan plant

During the above process, this soap maker and soap plant operator needs to ensure that the quality of the soap product is according to the required specifications. He also needs to manage the team below him during this process and report to the Site Manager as and when processes are in progress.
