What you'll be doing (and why you'll enjoy it) You'll support the full employee lifecycle across the UK and South Africa, from onboarding to offboarding, ensuring every step is seamless and people-focused. You'll advise on employee relations, manage performance processes, champion inclusivity, and improve systems like BreatheHR and Greenhouse. You'll also take the lead on impactful projects such as employment law compliance, performance enhancement, and HR tech optimisation. This is a newly created role, offering variety, autonomy and the opportunity to shape the future of People Operations in a growing international team. You'll be based in Cape Town but your role will cover the small (5) but growing SA team as well as the 100 odd employees in the UK. Your role will roughly be 70% people ops and 30% projects. Where you'll be doing it Our client is a UK-founded digital consultancy with a 15-year track record of building standout digital products for well-known brands. With a new office in Century City and a strong culture of innovation and collaboration, they combine the energy of a start-up with the stability of a seasoned player. They're known for solving complex challenges and fostering a people-first, inclusive culture that celebrates creativity, agility and growth. For probation period this will be an in office role, thereafter 2 days in office minimum. What you'll need You bring solid generalist HR experience, ideally spanning both UK and South African employment law. You're confident advising on all aspects of the employee journey and have led impactful people projects. You're tech-savvy, with experience using HR platforms and systems to drive efficiency and insight. A relevant degree or HR qualification is essential, and experience in performance, L&D, or employee experience is a required. We're wanting someone that's people centric, NOT bureaucratic. We're looking for someone who leads with a "People Experience" approach to HR - will help to articulate what a good experience looks and feels like, making sure everyone belongs. Someone that's highly empathetic, personable and friendly. Not at all stuffy, corporate and formal. That you're comfortable working in a small, growing environment similar to a start-up and have worked to mid-level experience or is ready for a step up.
