About the position
Large, profitable Automotive Parts Distributor, whose success has been achieved by "always putting the Customer first", honesty, integrity and professionalism requires a Payroll Specialist to join their Finance Team. Staff are the heart of any Business, so Payroll needs to be done accurately, where attention to detail is not negotiable. The Staff Compliment is +/-700 and ranges from Blue Collar to Exec, so communicating in a professional manner, face-to-face or via email at different levels is key. You will need to do your own Recons for all Third-Party Payments and create your own Journals. Understanding and using Payroll Legislation - PAYE; UIF; SDL; EMP 201 and EMP 501 is a must. You will be reporting to a Highly Respected, Diligent, Organised and Meticulous Payroll Manager, so the successful Candidate must take great pride in her work and have fantastic references. She must also be receptive to guidance: be confident, but humble and reserved.
This is NOT AN HR ROLE, as it is part of the Finance Team requiring an Individual who enjoys both the compliance, detail orientation and recon parts of the job.
Bookkeeping or Finance Diploma or Degree. 3-5 years' Payroll experience in a medium/large Company. Sage 300 People and Excel essential.
