About the position
Purpose of the role:
The Inbound and Outbound Pallet Controller position is responsible for managing pallet movement and control across warehouses and customer sites, ensuring accurate tracking, reconciliation, and cost management of pallet accounts.
In short, the incumbent will need to ensure that pallets are tracked, reconciled, and managed efficiently to minimise losses and costs, whilst maintaining strong customer relationships and compliance standards.
Responsibilities:
- Pallet control: Oversee pallet movement internally and externally, ensuring accurate records
- Database management: Update customer pallet details and maintain hard copy records
- Reconciliation: Daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliation of pallet counts and costs to prevent losses
- Customer liaison: Resolve pallet variances, recoveries, and outstanding queries with customers
- Reporting: Present weekly reconciliation reports to management
- Compliance: Ensure food safety and quality culture standards are upheld
Requirements:
- Education: Grade 12
- Experience: Minimum 4 years in a manufacturing/warehouse environment
- Able to handle volumes
- Proficiency in Sage software - experience with portals
- Commitment to Food Safety and Quality culture
- Core skills: Organisational ability, communication (written & verbal), detail orientation, stress tolerance, efficiency focus, logical reasoning, and teamwork
- Provide inspirational leadership and promote teamwork
- Strong interpersonal skills, logical reasoning, and ability to work under pressure
