About the position
Amanzimtoti - An opportunity exists for an Operations Supervisor within a large-scale manufacturing plant.
The Operations Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing production processes, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and optimizing plant efficiency. The role includes technical oversight of formulation, mixing, and testing, while also providing leadership to lab and production teams.
The successful candidate will ensure operational excellence through accurate documentation, process improvements, and effective collaboration across departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily technical and operational activities in the manufacturing plant
- Oversee formulation, mixing, quality control, and testing of ink batches
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
- Troubleshoot technical issues and optimize production processes
- Maintain accurate documentation, batch records, and production logs
- Provide guidance and mentorship to lab technicians and production staff
- Coordinate with quality assurance on formulation improvements
- Drive adherence to SOPs and operational best practices
- Monitor use of lab equipment, mixers, and mills
- Support lean manufacturing initiatives for efficiency improvement

Requirements:
- 2 – 4 years’ experience within the chemical manufacturing industry
- Solid knowledge of ink formulations and production processes
- Experience in operations supervision, equipment handling, and lab practices
- Good understanding of health, safety, and environmental management systems
- Proficiency in SOP development and process documentation
- Familiarity with hazardous chemicals and safe handling procedures
- Knowledge of laboratory equipment, mixers, and milling machinery
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles
- Reliable transport and own vehicle
Remuneration:
R15 000 – R18 000 per month, based on experience
