About the position
A Very well established company in the South of Johannesburg is seeking an Operations Admin Team Leader to join their team.
Minimum Requirements:
- 8 years experience in the Manufacturing industry
- Very good understanding of product costing
- Assertive personality
- Available Immediately or has a short notice period
- Excellent time management
- Knowledge of Pastel
Key Responsibilities:
Production Planning (Rigids & Compounding):
- Manage production planning to meet targets and customer needs.
- Maintain stock levels for compounding, finished goods, and raw materials.
- Monitor customer trends and coordinate material orders.
- Attend planning meetings; cover GFI planning if needed.
- Automate planning processes and train staff.
- Coordinate downtime with Maintenance to minimize impact.
- Maintain planning spreadsheets.
Stock Takes & Cycle Counts:
- Oversee weekly and bi-monthly stock takes; ensure accuracy and timely reports.
- Analyze variances, implement improvements, and report to management.
- Record stock variances in Sage; liaise with Finance.
- Reconcile material orders and manage write-offs.
- Keep stock take records updated.
Bill of Materials (BOMs):
- Manage BOM database, product costing, and updates.
- Update formulas, communicate changes, and resolve BOM issues.
- Maintain BOM spreadsheets and implement Xperdyte.
New Products, Codes, Warehouses & Pricing:
- Coordinate new product development and documentation.
- Handle costing, quotations, tooling invoices, and payments.
- Create/update product codes, registers, and spreadsheets.
- Load products into Sage and planning systems.
- Suggest pricing, manage variants, warehouses, and slow-moving stock.
Pricing Management:
- Update pricing in Sage and costing sheets; notify customers of changes.
- Manage volume discounts and pricing strategies.
- Maintain pricing records and track increases.
Sales Management:
- Lead and motivate sales team to meet targets.
- Develop strategies, analyze performance, coach team.
- Manage pricing, lead times, customer complaints, training, CRM exploration, and reporting.
- Ensure accurate invoicing and order management.
Sales Support:
- Process quotations, invoices, orders, and dispatch documents.
- Monitor stock, handle queries, complaints, credit reports, and dispatch.
Dispatch Management:
- Oversee dispatch team and reporting.
Ad Hoc Tasks/Projects:
- Verify delivery notes and invoices.
- Manage NCRs, planning changes, and ISO audits.
- Oversee archiving, new year file prep, reception duties, and SOP updates.
