About the position

Job Purpose:
The Microsoft Business Development Specialist will drive sales growth and strategic engagement within the Microsoft ecosystem. The role requires hands-on experience with the Microsoft Partner Portal, deep knowledge of Microsoft licensing models, and the ability to generate leads, close sales, and manage customer relationships. Daily activities will focus on proactive outreach, opportunity development, and close collaboration with the distributor, Microsoft and any other sales partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales & Business Development
  • Identify, qualify, and close new opportunities for Microsoft 365, Azure, Dynamics 365, and security related services.
  • Build a strong pipeline of prospects via cold calling, email campaigns, LinkedIn outreach, and networking.
  • Conduct solution presentations and product demonstrations tailored to customer needs.
  • Work within the Microsoft Partner Portal to register opportunities, track deals, and leverage partner benefits.
  • Licensing & Solution Advisory
  • Advise clients on Microsoft licensing models (CSP, EA, Open Value, MPSA) to ensure optimal cost and compliance.
  • Provide accurate quotations and licensing proposals based on client requirements.
  • Stay up to date on Microsoft promotions, incentive programs, and product roadmap changes.
  • Account & Partner Management
  • Manage existing customer accounts, ensuring high satisfaction and long-term retention.
  • Identify upsell, cross-sell, and renewal opportunities during account reviews.
  • Maintain active engagement with Microsoft partner account managers for joint go-to-market planning.
  • Organize and participate in Microsoft-led partner engagement activities, webinars, and training sessions.

Daily Tasks & Activities:

  • Cold Calling & Prospecting: Make outbound calls to potential customers to introduce Microsoft solutions and qualify leads.
  • Lead Generation: Research and identify new prospects using CRM, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and other lead sources.
  • Pipeline Management: Update CRM daily with activity logs, lead statuses, and next steps.
  • Partner Engagement: Liaise with Microsoft partner managers to align on campaigns, co-selling opportunities, and events.
  • Training & Enablement: Attend Microsoft product and sales training sessions to maintain solution expertise.
  • Customer Follow-ups: Schedule and conduct follow-up calls/emails with prospects and existing customers to advance deals.
  • Opportunity Registration: Enter new deals into the Microsoft Partner Portal to secure incentives and avoid conflicts.
  • Proposal Development: Prepare and send Microsoft licensing and solution proposals to prospects.
  • Event Participation: Represent the company at Microsoft events, webinars, and industry networking sessions.
  • Daily Reporting: Provide daily activity and performance updates to the Sales Director.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Proven ability to generate leads and close IT solution sales.
  • Strong Microsoft licensing knowledge (CSP, EA, Open Value, MPSA).
  • Hands-on experience with the Microsoft Partner Portal.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong negotiation and presentation abilities.
  • Time management and self-motivation skills.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years in IT sales, preferably in Microsoft solutions.
  • Microsoft certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Fundamentals, Licensing Specialist) highly beneficial.
  • Experience in a Microsoft Partner environment preferred.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Number of new leads generated daily/weekly.
  • Number of qualified opportunities registered in the Microsoft Partner Portal.
  • Sales revenue generated from Microsoft solutions.
  • Renewal and upsell rates for Microsoft products.
  • Attendance and engagement in Microsoft partner events and training sessions.

Desired Skills:
