About the position
Build strategy. Influence growth. Make a lasting impact. Is this you? You're a commercially minded B2B marketer who enjoys taking ownership and influencing business growth. Rather than simply delivering campaigns, you think strategically about where the business needs to go and how marketing can help get it there. You're confident engaging with executives, equally comfortable collaborating with sales teams, external agencies and various other stakeholders, and don't mind rolling up your sleeves to make things happen. Curious by nature, you enjoy learning technical concepts, spotting opportunities for improvement and building systems that create lasting impact. Leading comes naturally, and you're motivated by seeing measurable commercial results. What you'll be doing (and why you'll enjoy it) This is an opportunity to own and shape a marketing function while helping take it to the next level. You'll develop and execute the marketing strategy, build scalable processes, strengthen lead generation and work closely with the Business Development team to create qualified commercial opportunities. From product launches and thought leadership to campaign planning, PR and digital marketing, you'll ensure every initiative supports the company's growth objectives. You'll also manage external partners and develop the internal marketing team. You'll enjoy this role because you'll have the autonomy to influence strategy, introduce new ideas and see the direct commercial impact of your work. Understanding that this is a medium sized business that will require you to be very hands on. Where you'll be doing it Based in Stellenbosch, you'll join a scaling renewable energy business delivering technically advanced solutions across Africa. Operating in one of the continent's fastest-growing industries, the organisation has built a strong reputation for solving complex commercial challenges through innovation, technical excellence and long-term partnerships. Marketing is viewed as a strategic business function, giving you the opportunity to work closely with executive leadership and make a genuine contribution to the company's continued growth. After your probation period, this offers a 1 day work from home. What you'll need You'll bring at least five years' B2B marketing experience within a technical environment such as engineering, manufacturing, infrastructure, construction, technology or industrial services. Proven success developing marketing strategies, generating commercial leads and supporting business development is essential, along with previous experience managing at least one employee. Strong commercial acumen, excellent communication skills and a data-driven approach are key. A relevant degree would be advantageous, but solid experience and the ability to think strategically are what will set you apart. Experience working in a small to medium sized business is ideal. What you'll get Along with a basic salary, you'll receive risk benefits. You will enjoy the opportunity to take real ownership of a marketing function that's ready for its next phase of growth. You'll work alongside experienced executives, influence key commercial decisions and build your profile within a rapidly expanding sector. This is the ideal opportunity for someone looking to step into a role where strategy, autonomy and impact go hand in hand.
