About the position
Our client, a prominent organisation within the industrial distribution sector, is seeking an accomplished Managing Partner to oversee its operations in Mozambique.
This opportunity is ideal for a commercially astute, people-driven leader with strong regional experience and a track record of driving business growth and operational performance in emerging markets.
The role offers the chance to shape strategy, lead branch operations, and deliver financial and commercial outcomes in line with broader group objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic direction and day-to-day operational oversight of all business activities in Mozambique.
- Drive in-country sales development and business expansion in alignment with organisational goals.
- Take full accountability for the region's Profit and Loss (PnL) performance.
- Identify new opportunities for growth and lead effective go-to-market strategies.
- Lead, develop, and inspire a high-performance team to achieve operational excellence.
- Navigate the commercial, regulatory, and cultural complexities of doing business in Mozambique.
- Implement change management initiatives aligned with strategic transformation goals.
Experience and Educational Requirements:
- A relevant tertiary qualification in business, commerce, or management.
- At least 5 years of proven experience working in Mozambique - this is non-negotiable.
- Demonstrated financial leadership, including full PnL accountability and compliance expertise within the Mozambican context.
- Strong track record in driving growth and transformation in a distributed operational environment.
- Commercially minded leader with a deep understanding of the complexities involved in operating within high-growth and challenging markets
Effective people leader with the ability to inspire teams and foster high engagement. - Portuguese language proficiency is highly advantageous.
