About the position

Are you a strategic, analytical finance professional who enjoys shaping lending products that make a real difference?

Our client, a respected financial institution serving South Africa's agricultural sector, is looking for a Manager: Lending Products & Pricing to drive the development, pricing, and ongoing optimisation of lending solutions for agricultural clients. This role offers exposure across the bank and the opportunity to influence product strategy, pricing models, and financial performance at a meaningful level.

What You'll Do

Product Development & Pricing

  • Lead scenario testing and sensitivity analysis on pricing assumptions and recommend appropriate actions
  • Design, develop, and implement rating and pricing models for new and existing lending products
  • Create and maintain pricing, calculation, and quotation tools in collaboration with Sales, Operations, and IT
  • Provide specialist input into standard operating procedures (SOPs) and product processes
  • Conduct research, data analysis, and market reviews to support decision-making
  • Drive process improvements to enhance product quality, efficiency, and service delivery
  • Translate medium-term lending and pricing strategy into practical, executable solutions across the bank

Client & Customer Focus

  • Provide expert advisory input to support service excellence initiatives
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to enhance customer outcomes
  • Deliver sound consulting advice based on customer needs, trends, and data insights

Financial Management

  • Support cost optimisation and reduction of financial waste
  • Assist with budgeting, target setting, and cost control across functional areas
  • Manage and monitor P&L performance for risk-mitigating solutions within the lending portfolio
  • Initiate and oversee market research, data mining, and quantitative analysis to support long-term sustainability and growth

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Act as a subject-matter expert on lending products and pricing across the organisation
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislation and industry best practices, providing proactive guidance
  • Engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including senior leaders, SMEs, project teams, and end-users
  • Contribute to forums and initiatives that promote knowledge sharing and continuous improvement
  • Support change management initiatives and provide operational support where required

What We're Looking For

Minimum Requirements

  • Commercial or Business-related degree
  • 3-5 years' experience in the banking or financial services industry
  • 3-5 years' experience in designing, testing, or improving processes and controls
  • Solid understanding of lending products and pricing models
