Role Summary
Pick n Pay Hypermarket Moffett is looking for an energetic, hands-on, and results-driven Bakery Manager to lead our Bakery Department. Requirements
Matric (Grade 12)
Preferably an NQF Level 3 Bakery Qualification
Minimum 3 - 5 year's experience as a Baker, Bakery Supervisor, or Bakery Manager
Minimum 1 to 3 year's experience in a bakery supervisor, or management role
Strong understanding of bakery production, food safety, and stock management
Excellent leadership, communication, and people management skills
Ability to work retail hours, including weekends and public holidays

Key Responsibilities
Operational Excellence
Ensure the Bakery Department is fully prepared for trade each day with excellent product availability and presentation.
Execute operational plans and merchandising standards in line with company requirements.
Maintain exceptional hygiene, food safety, and housekeeping standards.
Ensure compliance with all bakery operating procedures and food safety regulations.
Product Quality & Production
Manage daily production planning to ensure fresh products are available throughout the trading day.
Monitor product quality, consistency, presentation, and freshness.
Ensure recipes, yields, and production standards are consistently achieved.
Oversee product packaging, labelling, and display standards.
Commercial & Sales Performance
Drive sales growth through effective production planning and stock availability.
Monitor sales trends and customer demand to maximise turnover opportunities.
Manage waste, shrinkage, and stock losses to improve profitability.
Deliver departmental sales and gross profit targets.
Stock Management
Ensure effective stock control, ordering, rotation, and replenishment.
Participate in stock takes and maintain accurate stock records.
Apply FIFO principles and proactively manage stock levels to minimise losses.
Team Leadership
Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing bakery team.
Drive a culture of accountability, customer service, and teamwork.
Conduct training on bakery standards, production processes, and food safety requirements.
Motivate and inspire employees to consistently deliver outstanding results.
