About the position
Maintenance Technician (Chemical Plant/Production Machinery)
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Maintenance Technician, directs and coordinates activities of installing, repairing, and implementing preventative maintenance of production/factory machinery and equipment.
- Executes preventative, predictive, and on demand maintenance on a wide variety of industrial equipment to ensure reliability and equipment optimization.
- Daily Inspect, record and report information that may impede the operation of the plant.
- Ensures that appropriate level of spare parts and raw materials is maintained in stock by reviewing usage history and recommended spare parts lists.
- Must have strong preventative mindset and drive to increase equipment uptime.
- Must be able to read, understand, and follow machine manuals, mechanical drawings, SOP's, etc.
- Follows strict Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) to ensure quality, compliant maintenance activities are completed in a timely manner.
- Must have exceptional diagnosis, troubleshooting, installing, and repairing skills as required in a chemical manufacturing plant.
- Must maintain a personal inventory of tools necessary to perform the requirements of the position.
- Must have hands-on mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills
- Inspect electrical wiring, switches, and controls to ensure a safe operating environment.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Knowledge of health and safety requirements as per OHSA.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements:
- Suitably qualified or experienced, with exceptional communication skills
- Proven accurate and neat hands-on experience in the above
- Ability to lift and move heavy equipment.
- Must be available to work a flexible schedule from-time to time, that includes overtime, and weekends to support a plant that manufactures 24/7
- Must be detail oriented and able to comply with necessary documentation (work orders, parts inventory etc.)
- Must have a high sense of drive, initiative, sense of urgency, and pride to support a high-volume, high-speed manufacturing plant. Lots of energy, fast paced environmemt.
- Must understand machinery.
- Chemical plant understanding and experience will be beneficial.
