Role Objectives/Responsibilities

  • Installation and Maintenance: Millwrights install, align, and level machinery and equipment, ensuring they operate efficiently. They perform routine maintenance to prevent equipment failures and extend machinery life.
  • Repair and Troubleshooting: They diagnose and repair mechanical issues, replacing defective parts as necessary. This includes using specialized tools and equipment to conduct repairs.
  • Blueprint Interpretation: Millwrights read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics to understand machinery layout and installation requirements.
  • Safety Compliance: They follow strict safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment, including using personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhering to safety regulations.
  • Collaboration: Millwrights often work as part of a team, communicating effectively with colleagues and supervisors to coordinate tasks and ensure project completion

Experience/Education

  • Education: Matric or GED is typically required, with many employers preferring candidates who have completed an apprenticeship program or hold an associate's degree in industrial mechanics or a related field
