Litigation Secretary

About the position

A long-established legal practice in Brooklyn is looking for a sharp Junior or Senior Litigation Secretary to support a busy litigation team. With nearly a century of professional service behind it, the firm advises a diverse client base across South Africa and offers exposure to a broad range of legal matters.
Duties / Key Responsibilities

• Typing from dictation accurately and efficiently
• Providing day-to-day secretarial support within a litigation practice
• Preparing, formatting and managing legal correspondence and documentation
• Assisting with general litigation administration and file management

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Junior or Senior Litigation Secretary
• Sound general litigation knowledge and exposure
• Strong dictation typing skills
• Insurance law experience would be advantageous, but is not essential
• Fluency in English and Afrikaans
• Available to start as soon as possible; candidates with up to one month’s notice will be considered

Education

• Relevant legal secretarial training or equivalent practical experience preferred

• Able to work calmly in a busy legal environment

Salary: Approximately R20 000 gross per month, negotiable depending on experience.
