About Roll:

A senior engineering role for a highly skilled IT professional with expertise in cloud, AI, and cybersecurity. Responsible for designing and implementing advanced IT solutions, leading complex projects, and mentoring junior engineers.

Required Skill Set (Advanced Level):

• IT Infrastructure & Cloud Management: Deep expertise in architecting, implementing, and optimizing hybrid/multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, VMware). Advanced networking (SD-WAN, zero-trust), virtualization/containerization (Kubernetes, Docker), and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation). Ability to build resilient, high-performance foundations supporting AI/ML workloads and intelligent automation at scale.
• AI & Data Analytics: Hands-on experience with machine learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn), AI tooling ecosystems, big data platforms (Spark, Databricks, Snowflake), and analytics pipelines. Track record of delivering predictive maintenance, anomaly detection, intelligent automation, and actionable business intelligence — a key differentiator of Modern IT Providers (MIP) versus traditional MSPs.
• Compliance & Regulatory Knowledge: Expertise in GDPR, POPIA (South Africa), HIPAA, SOC 2 Type II, ISO [Phone Number Removed];, PCI-DSS, and cybersecurity frameworks (NIST CSF/RMF, CIS Controls). Skilled in risk assessments, gap analyses, control implementation, audit preparation, and continuous compliance monitoring.
• Strategic Project Management & Transition Leadership: Experience leading enterprise IT transformations from legacy MSP (reactive) to proactive, intelligence-led MIP operating models. Strong command of agile/DevOps practices, stakeholder engagement, change management frameworks (ADKAR, Kotter), resource planning, and delivery governance.
• Cybersecurity & Threat Intelligence: Advanced skills in threat hunting, incident response, digital forensics, and security operations. Expertise integrating AI-enhanced security tools (next-gen SIEM, ML anomaly detection, EDR/XDR, SOAR automation, deception technology) to deliver intelligence-driven risk mitigation and continuous security improvement

Additional Expectations:

• Minimum 10 years of professional IT experience, with at least 5 years in senior or advanced engineering/architectural roles
• Ability to operate independently on complex, ambiguous problems while mentoring junior engineers
• Strong communication skills for translating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and clients
• Based in South Africa (Johannesburg preferred) with eligibility to work in ZA
