KWV a renowned South African brand and industry leader in the production of world-class wines, and other spirits a vacancy for a Category and Capability Specialistbased in Paarl.

Purpose:
The Category & Sales Capability Specialist drives category-led growth and commercial excellence across KWV's trade channels
The role combines category insights, shopper understanding and sales capability development to ensure that category strategies translate into strong trade execution and improved commercial performance
The incumbent will develop category insights, execution frameworks and sales capability tools that enable KWV's sales teams to win in-store and strengthen customer partnerships
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years' experience in category management, trade marketing, commercial capability or sales enablement within FMCG or beverages
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Commerce, Business Management or related field
- Experience working with sales teams, key accounts and trade marketing environments
- Proven ability to translate data insights into commercial action
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
Skills and knowledge required:
- Strong knowledge of category management principles and shopper insights
- Experience using Nielsen, IRI, Truedata or retailer POS data
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, QlikView or similar analytics platforms (Power BI advantageous)
- Ability to design and implement sales capability frameworks and training tools
- Experience developing commercial playbooks, sales toolkits and training materials
- Strong presentation and facilitation skills
- Excellent planning, organisation and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work cross-functionally across Sales, Marketing, and Customer teams
- Willingness to travel to trade and field locations
Job summary:
- Analyse category performance using internal and external data sources (e.g. Nielsen, Truedata, QlikView, SAP)
- Translate data into actionable category insights and growth opportunities
- Identify assortment, space, and visibility opportunities across customers and channels
- Develop and maintain planograms and assortment guidelines
- Monitor category and promotional performance and identify opportunities for growth
- Support the rollout of the KWV Sales Capability Framework
- Develop training materials, guides, and digital toolkits for field teams
- Provide field coaching to Regional Sales Managers and sales teams
- Monitor adoption and effectiveness of capability initiatives
- Translate category insights into clear in-store execution standards
- Develop and maintain the KWV Look of Success playbook across trade channels
- Conduct store audits and compliance reviews to monitor execution quality
- Provide feedback to marketing and category teams on in-market execution
- Work closely with Sales, Key Account Managers, and Trade Marketing teams
- Support retailer reviews, Joint Business Plans (JBPs), and new product launches
