Junior Accounts / Data Capturer (Roodepoort)

About the position

Job Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Junior Accounts / Data Capturer to join our finance team. This role is ideally suited to an individual with a foundational understanding of accounting principles and strong administrative capabilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurate data capturing, assisting with basic accounting functions, and supporting the broader finance department.

Key Responsibilities:

• Capture financial data accurately and timeously into accounting systems
• Assist with processing invoices, receipts, and payments
• Maintain and update financial records and databases
• Perform basic reconciliations and assist with ledger maintenance
• Support month-end and audit preparation processes
• Ensure all documentation is correctly filed and easily accessible
• Liaise with internal departments regarding financial information when required
• Adhere to company policies and accounting procedures

Minimum Requirements (Essential Skills & Qualifications):

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, and Excel)
• Basic to intermediate Excel skills (data entry, formatting, simple formulas)
• Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
• Accounting as a subject at school level (or equivalent)
• Basic understanding of accounting principles
• Good organisational and time management skills

Advantageous Skills (Nice to Have):

• Experience with accounting software such as Pastel or Sage
• Previous experience in a similar data capturing or junior account's role
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
