IT Technical Consultant

About the position

The Technical Consultant will have experience of interacting with clients' business and technical teams, internal software development teams, and networking teams. This person will be an integral team member in the on-going support of products and services provided to our customers.

To be successful as a Technical Consultant, you should have built up technical knowledge through past experiences of collaborating with various technical teams and have problem solving, analytical and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Customer Support for API users and escalated customer queries.
• Administering help desk support to ensure client tickets are resolved timeously.
• Investigation / Problem Solving / Troubleshooting Issues.
• Analysing Logs.
• Coordinate changes to the software or any other config changes that may be client specific or otherwise - Change Request Management and Processes.
• Documenting Processes
• Checking Validations and attending to issues or escalating them to the relevant owner.
• Assist in Compiling RCA's
• Product demonstrations and training

Technical Skills & Qualifications

• Matric or Equivalent N3 certification (Required).
• Microsoft related course such as A+, MCSE (Ideal but not required)
• Degree in a related field (Ideal but not required).
• Proficiency with Excel and functions such as VLOOKUP'S, HLOOKUPS etc.
• Good general knowledge of IT & keen interest in telecommunications?
• Good knowledge of Windows and how software works.??
• A good knowledge of networking including VPN's and IP-SEC tunnels.
• Must have the ability to run Basic SQL Queries
• Understanding of APIs such as SOAP, REST etc.
• Worked with API building and testing tools such as Postman API Platform.
• Capture traces using Wireshark and being able to interpret the results.

• Excellent English verbal and writing skills.
• Problem solving. Must be able to manage computer problems, analyse them, and solve them.
• Attention to detail & Logical thinking.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks at once.
• Keeping track of new technologies in the IT space to assist with tasks.
• Able to work from home if need arises with a strong Internet connection and quite space.
• Must have good people skills and the ability to deal with both Technical and Non-Technical Customers and Colleagues
• Strong research skills are essential for this role.
• You must have your own transportation.
